Mr. Manish Sisodia: Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Govt of Delhi
Mr Manish Sisodia is the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi since February 2015. Mr Sisodia holds key portfolios like the Finance and Planning, Revenue, Services, Power, Education, Higher Education, Technical Education, Information Technology, and Administrative Reforms in the Government of Delhi. Prior to this, he was briefly a cabinet minister in the Government of Delhi between late December 2013 and February 2014, where he handled portfolios like education, PWD, urban development, local bodies and land and building. Besides, Mr Sisodia has been a social activist and a journalist as well as a member of the National Executive Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Dr. Sandhya Chintala: VP & Executive Director, IT – ITeS Sector Skills Council, NASSCOM
Dr Sandhya Chintala is the Executive Director/CEO of IT- ITeS Sector Skills Council NASSCOM (SSC NASSCOM), which is an integral part of NASSCOM. SSC NASSCOM addresses the ‘Education & Skills Development Initiative’ of this industry body for the country. Dr. Sandhya Chintala is also the Vice President of the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), which is the chamber of commerce of the IT-BPM industry.
Dr Chintala has a rich background in international and national education management. Her role at NASSCOM includes providing the roadmap for IT-BPM industry’s/ NASSCOM’s education initiatives; programs with a vision to develop education strategy, capacity building, assessment & evaluation; the development of industry standards to facilitate a quality talent pool, liaising between industry, academia and government, making India the preferred global destination for all IT and BPM/ITeS requirements.
As an educationist some of her research publications and activities are related to the successful development and implementation of educational frameworks enabling change management and sustainable governance processes, technology enabled teaching- learning methods, e-content solutions and the design and development of quality assurance strategies. Dr Chintala brings to this ecosystem 37 years of experience to facilitate talent transformation and acquisition for this Industry body.
As a strategist Dr Chintala has in close collaboration with the IT-BPM industry and other relevant stakeholders contributed to the design and development of the Sector Skills Council for NASSSCOM. She has identified and executed programs to develop ready-to-deploy talent by laying standards for skill requirements in the IT-BPM industry. These requirements merit defining standards of performance articulated in the ‘Occupational Analysis’ reports published under her guidance. Her focus is to identify job roles and career paths for the benefit of students and academia, to facilitate a clear understanding of career opportunities provided by this industry and to streamline multiple approaches towards a national standard.
To facilitate talent transformation and acquisition, her contribution aims at the development of multiple programs of occupational learning that support employer requirements in the face of shrinking labor markets and growing international competition. Dr Chintala‘s contribution toward the development of a ‘Work force Market Intelligence System’, the ‘Analysis of Talent Supply and Demand’ report, the ‘Quality Assurance Parameters for Affiliation, Accreditation and Certification’ documents and the design and development of high-end online assessments and platforms for Qualification Packs and related areas have helped modernize and bridge the gap between education provision and vocational training for this industry.
Dr B V Babu: Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University
Dr B V Babu is Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University, Greater Noida. Earlier he was Pro Vice Chancellor of DIT University, Dehradun. Prior to that he was Director of IET of JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. Before that he was Professor of Chemical Engg and held administrative positions as Dean-Student Welfare, Dean-FD1, Dean-EHD, etc. at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani.
Obtained PhD from IIT-Bombay. He has 29 years (as in 2014) of Teaching, Research, Consultancy, and Administrative experience.
He has also guided 8 PhD students, 36 ME Dissertation students and 38 Thesis students and around 200 Project students. Currently guiding 3 PhD candidates. Completed 7 Research projects and 7 Consultancy Projects.
Dr B V Babu has published 230 research papers, 6 books and several chapters in books and also reviewed 6 Books. Editorial Board Member of six International Journals and Referee for 71 International Journals.
Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Choudhary: Director, APIIT SD India
Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Choudhary is Director of APIIT SD India. He has 20 years Teaching / Research experience. He is Master of Science in Engineering and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering. He is a recipient of Siksha Bharti Puraskar 2009, National Achievement Award, Life time Achievement Award with Gold Medal. He has been conferred the Fellowship of the Institutions of Engineers (India) and Institutions of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineers (IETE). His fields of research are Software Testing & Fault Tolerance. He has developed a framework to test the software fault tolerance technique (Patent applied). He has more than 54 publications in international journals, conferences and magazines in the field of Software Engineering, Computer Networking, Image Processing and Higher Education Systems. He has supervised enormous number of Ph.D., M. Phil., M.Tech and B.Tech students. The projects were executed in various Research, Industrial and Professional Organizations.
His one area of interest is Technical Education System. He has published number of papers and articles about the quality of technical education into journals, magazines and newspapers. He is an established trainer for faculty development programme and employability enhancements skills among the students. He has been recently awarded CSR Eminent Directors of Leading Institutes Awards for the year 2015 for his exceptional contribution in Technical Education.
Vasudeva Varma: Professor and Dean (Research), IIIT Hyderabad
Vasudeva Varma is a Professor and Dean (Research) at IIIT Hyderabad. He is passionate about social media analysis, text understanding, information extraction, cloud computing, and start-ups. He is the CEO of IIIT Hyderabad Foundation, which runs one of the largest technology incubators in India. The Foundation manages IIIT-H’s IP and technology transfers. He also co-founded Veooz Labs along with Srini Koppolu and Prasad Pingali.
He published a book on Software Architecture (Pearson Education) and more than two hundred technical papers in journals and conferences.
He was visiting professor/researcher at UPV, Valencia (Spain), UBO, Bretagne (France) and Language Technologies Institute, CMU, Pittsburgh (USA). He worked in New York and Bay area mostly with start-ups before coming back to India and to academics.
Brig SK Lahiri (Retd): Director, Army Institute of Technology
Brig SK Lahiri (Retd) is an Engineer Officer, with 40 years of experience. He has served for 33 years in the Indian Army with major involvement in both combat duties as well as in training and development as Instructor in elite training establishments like Defence Services Staff College Wellington Officers Training Academy Chennai, and the College of Military Engineering Pune from where he retired from the appointment of Faculty Commander in 2008. He served for a year as Chief HR in an IT Consulting company in the Mahindra Group in Mumbai, before taking over as Director of the prestigious Army Institute of Technology at Pune in July 2009.
He is a Fellow of the Indian Institution of Engineers, and has done the prestigious Higher Command Course in Mhow and Defence Services Staff College course in Wellington. He has obtained his MSc Degree in Defence Studies from Madras Univ, M Phil Management from DAV University Indore and Executive Business Management degree from IIM Ahmedabad. He has a PhD in HR Management on employee competencies in Small and Medium Enterprises in Pune. He has published a number of security related papers in journals of the Indian Army, and on HR related issues in management journals. His expertise is in the domain of training and development, and in organizational effectiveness. He is currently an active member of CII Pune Industry Institute Interaction panel.
Prof Pankaj Jalote: Director, Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi
Prof Pankaj Jalote is Director of Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi. Prior to this, he was the Microsoft Chair Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi. Before this he was with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur since 1989, where he was also the Head of the Department from 1998 to 2002. Earlier he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, where he also held joint appointment in the Institute of Advanced Computer Studies. From 1996 to 1998, he was Vice President (quality) at Infosys Technologies, where he spearheaded Infosys' successful move to high maturity levels of the CMM. From 2003 to 2004 he was a Visiting Researcher at Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, USA.
He is the author of CMM in Practice, (Addison Wesley, 1999), a book that has been translated in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean; Software Project Management in Practice (Addison Wesley, Feb 2002); the highly popular textbook An Integrated Approach to Software Engineering, (Springer 1991, 2nd Edition 1996, 3rd Edition 2005), whose Indian edition was recognized as the best selling book in computer science by its local publisher; and the graduate-level book Fault Tolerance in Distributed Systems , (Prentice Hall, 1994). He is on the Board of Advisors of many software companies in India and USA, is a Technical Advisory Board member for Microsoft Research, India, has served on the Editorial Board of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, and International Journal of Emperical Software Engineering.

Pradeep Gupta: CMD, CyberMedia
Pradeep Gupta (Born March 8, 1955) is the chairman and managing director of CyberMedia, India's leading specialty media house and a public company with an ICT focus. He has received national awards for his championship of the disabled, and alumni awards for entrepreneurship. He is also an Angel investor and a mentor to a number of entrepreneurs.
Pradeep Gupta received the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT Delhi in 2000. He also received the Helen Keller Award from the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People, the Award for Outstanding Contribution towards National Development from IIT Delhi Alumni Association.
He received the Karmaveer Puraskaar award (social justice national awards)in the "Corporate Citizens for Holistic Media Initiatives" category for 2009-2010. Work that led to this award include his social intervention plan that resulted in the IT/BPO industry becoming accessible to the disabled, his work towards making all Indian websites disabled-friendly and his 'Getting Girls to School' programme.
